Kristen Foss

Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota music has always been a strong passion of mine. A natural performer, at age 3, I hit the stage with tap shoes and at age 10, I grabbed a hold of a microphone. From then on, music became the center of my universe. I began singing in school and church choirs. I competed in various solo and small group vocal competitions throughout high school and college, receiving highest ratings. As a result of my accomplishments, I was asked to be a performing member of the All-State women's chorus for ACDA in the state of Minnesota. As a teen, I competed in local talent shows, winning first place in a vocal competition hosted by local Minneapolis radio station KDWB. Dance has also been a strong passion of mine, trained in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, modern and hip hop dance. I attended college at UW-River Falls where I studied voice, dance and psychology. There I performed with UW-River Falls’ modern dance group “Dance Theatre,” 4 consecutive years and competed in the regional dance competition ACDFA. I was given the opportunity to take master classes from world renown dance instructors. After college, I delved heavily into the Minneapolis music scene. I have had the honor to work and perform alongside some of the most talented musicians around, to name a few: Alex Rossi with "Alex Rossi and the Root City Band," James "Jay Bee" Brown who toured with New Edition, Run-DMC, and New Kids On The Block, and Kirk Johnson who toured as a dancer/choreographer and percussionist for Prince. As a singer I am very versatile in genres from R & B to country. Currently I perform with various top 40 cover bands here in Minneapolis.

 

Most recently I was able to record some demo vocals for One Direction's guitar player Dan Richards. As well I had the amazing opportunity of writing and recording a duo ballad for myself and the lead singer of the progressive metal band, based out of Denmark, Pyramaze for their upcoming album in 2016. I have also recorded for corporate commercials, such as Buffalo Wild Wings. 

 

I am an avid songwriter and have had the opportunity to record my own music for the last 6 years. In the year 2016, I moved to the Los Angeles area and have continued to write and record my own music and collaborate with local artists. Stay tuned!
